Williams Brothers choose Sack Trucks Direct

December 5th, 2011 by admin | Permalink

One of Scotland’s leading breweries, Williams Brothers, well known for their range of historic ales, including beer flavoured with seaweed or heather, have again chosen Sack Trucks Direct to supply sack trucks to their New Alloa Brewery.
The P Handle Hand Truck that has been ordered is very manoeuvrable, and is suitable for one-handed use. Many sack trucks with two handles are a little awkward to use with one hand, and can make opening and closing doors difficult. The P handle sack truck is different, the hand truck has a P shaped loop handle, meaning it can be operated with one hand or two.

P Handle sack barrows are increasingly popular in industrial environments, fitted with pneumatic wheels they are suitable for use across a range of surfaces. The large 200kg load capacity of the hand truck mean that a massive range of loads can be transported. The sack truck is light enough to be loaded on to the back of a van or truck, and is often used by couriers.

Introducing our new range of Hand Trucks

December 1st, 2011 by admin | Permalink

We have recently added to our range of hand trucks available on Sack Trucks Direct. Hand trucks come in a wide range of sizes and designs, each designed for a range of jobs.

An aluminium hand truck is lightweight, and is suitable for use in medical and food sectors, where hygiene is important. Our range of aluminium hand trucks is among the largest on the market, with telescopic hand trucks, aluminium platform trucks and folding aluminium sack trucks. Our P Handle Aluminium hand truck is the latest addition to our product range.

Fixed toe hand trucks are ideal for moving heavy loads, while a hand truck with a folding toe is perfect if the object is larger. We also have a large choice of universal hand trucks, with 2 in 1 sack trucks and 3 in 1 hand trucks allowing use as both an upright hand truck and a platform truck. Our 3 in 1 solid wheel hand truck is our most recent addition to our growing range of universal sack trucks.

The final category of hand trucks that are available are stair climber hand trucks, often known as stair climber sack trucks. These hand trucks make moving loads up or down stairs simple, the rotating tri-wheels allow the hand truck to climb or descend stairs with ease. We have introduced a 2 in 1 stair climber hand truck recently, and it is selling well, allowing loads to be moved as a platform truck and a conventional stair climber hand truck.

Hand truck or Sack Barrow, naming of sack trucks

October 14th, 2011 by admin | Permalink

A sack truck is a simple tool to make moving heavy or bulky loads easier. Like many widely used tools, a sack truck has many names. A hand truck, sack barrow, sack trolley or slightly more commonly a sack truck.

Quite why such a sack truck has so many different names is unclear, but it may be because sack trucks perform a range of functions. A sack barrow is more likely to be a sack truck with a large loading capacity, especially a hand truck featuring a bucket or large loading plate.

Hand truck seems to be the name often used by American users of sack trucks, while sack truck is the normal term used in Britain. Whether the product is a hand truck, sack barrow or even a sack trolley, it is clear that sack trucks are widely used to deliver parcels, move loads, and carry out many essential functions every day.

Wigan Athletic AFC choose our Telescopic Folding Sack Truck

October 5th, 2011 by admin | Permalink

Wigan Athletic AFC are the latest customer to choose our telescopic folding sack truck. This sack truck is one of a range of aluminium sack trucks available, and the sack truck folds down for easy storage and transport.

Wigan Athletic join a growing list of sports teams, couriers and corporations to use our sack trucks. We have a wide range of sack trucks and sack trollies, suitable for a variety of applications. A sack truck makes transporting goods very simple, light but bulky items are easily accomodated, while sack trucks also allow loads much too heavy to be moved by hand to be transported with ease.

We expect the lightweight but strong aluminium sack trucks to be among our most popular sack trucks and aim to have an aluminium sack trolley available for all jobs.

Sack trucks and sack trolleys

September 28th, 2011 by admin | Permalink

Sack trucks are sometimes described as sack trolleys. A sack truck that converts from an upright sack truck into a platform trolley is most correctly described as a sack trolley, but the term sack truck and sack trolley are normally used interchangably.

A sack truck comes in a few basic designs. The simplest is a sack truck with a fixed toe, although sack trucks are available with a folding toe plate, to allow larger items to be moved.
Sack trucks are normally made from steel, although aluminium sack trucks are available which combine strength with a lightweight, easy to move frame.
There are many sack trucks that transform from an upright sack truck into a platform sack trolley, allowing large items to be pulled along.
Stair climber sack trucks are also very popular and allow goods to be moved up and down stairs. A stair climber sack truck has three wheels on either side that rotate and allow the sack truck to move smoothly on stairs.
The final decision to make when selecting a sack truck is to choose between a solid wheel sack truck and a pneumatic wheel sack truck. Pneumatic wheel sack trucks are can be used on all surfaces and give a cushioned ride over rough terrain, while a solid wheel sack truck, fitted with solid rubber wheels is suitable for indoor use on a smooth surface, and of course a solid wheel sack truck will not puncture.

We have a number of heavy duty mesh garden carts, suitable for transporting many different loads, up to a weight capacity of 700kg for the Heavy Duty Garden Cart.

Our latest garden cart in our range is the Large Garden Cart with Removable Plastic Lining, which makes it simple to move items such as leaves or grass cuttings.

All of our garden carts are fitted with large pneumatic wheels to make moving the garden cart very easy. Loading and unloading is easy thanks to the garden cart having fold-down sides.
